Ekstrem is a standalone piece of furniture rather than just a chair. One of the country’s first postmodern designs, it. With its unorthodox geometry, you can sit straight up with your feet on the floor, sideways with your legs resting on the armrests, or totally backward with your front torso resting against the chair’s back. A sitting experience that can only be characterized as unusual.
Ekstrem is made of a steel frame with woolen knit upholstery and soft foam padding. Devold’s Knit, a custom woolen upholstery fabric, comes in six hues. Being made of a single continuous thread gives it a crucial suppleness for conforming to the organic curve of the chair. The knitted material has a traditional quadratic pattern and is comfortable and breathable.
